which scent do you prefer?
by bkachinsky on May.19, 2009, under Uncategorized
I hadn’t treated my trusty honda to a bath in a while so I decided to visit the car wash the other day and was in for a suprise. Not only did they clean my filthy car inside and out but as a bonus they offered these wonderful scents:
Of course there were the standards “apple” or “pine” or “cherry” and even “baby powder” for the newborns. Everyone’s favorite “new car” scent was also available.
I did a double take when I saw a few new kids on the block…
“Money”? - You’re really going the extra mile by getting your car washed and not only looking rich but now you can have your car smell like there is fat stacks of cash littered about your vehicle.
“Black Gold”?- This one is just bizarre. I’ve heard the term used in reference to oil but do you really want your car smelling like it’s covered in it? Maybe i’m crazy.
I opted for no scent time around (boring?) but next time you hop into my freshly washed whip you might just catch a wiff of $100 bills marinated in Texas crude oil. MMM!
Things that make you go hmmm… (part 2)

I’m currently on an Etnies tour and this morning I was early to rise for some reason and went down to the fitness room in the hotel to do some knee exercises. Upon entering I saw this:
Standard workout room rules, guidelines, regulations, etc.
But I took a double take at this one:
STOP if you feel exhausted or any sort of discomfort? That means you should definitely not let it reach the point where you might actually break a sweat. Sweating could be fatal.
Could that have anything to do with this? (watch it load up to 2007…pretty shocking)
13 days until…

The Etnies/Action Village BBQ in Chicago at Action Village Headquarters. Sunday, May 17th:
See you there!
Also check out the new issue of Props (issue #72) There is a segment in there of our trip to Thailand. Doyle, Ross, Young, Pieringer and myself had a wild trip.
Almost all of it was documented (minus us crashing a tuk-tuk into a tree). Check it!
3 great iphotos

Roadfools 17 is well underway. Day 3 is about to start and I have a stomachache from laughing so hard. Catfish is to blame for most of that..
The Kink team as tried to sabotage us (Etnies) on many occasions. It’s getting gnarly. Hamlin even went as far as a chainsaw at the expense of Nathan William’s pedal…
I wish this photo was a bit more clear but yesterday I had planned on diving into the fine dining of Waffle House for breakfast. I began walking toward the fine establishment when a patron walked two steps out of the door and projectile vomited, repeatedly. I skipped breakfast.
On the bright side Action Village and Etnies want to give you free food, discounts and good times. If you are ANYWHERE near Chicago in the middle of may you have to check this out!…
Powersliding?…
by bkachinsky on Apr.17, 2009, under Uncategorized
This week was interesting and inspiring. Ok, I lied about the inspiring part but here goes…
I was introduced to “Powersliding”. An activity that all BMXers can relate to…kind of.
They use rails and ledges and so do we.
and sometimes they get broke off like we do…
There are some very subtle differences ….
We use wax and they use…baby powder. hmmm.
BMX has Nora cup, Dew Cup, X Games medals and the top Powersliding honor is this thing.
They had Catfish on the mic but also judges like:
-Olympic Gold Medalist Johnny Mosley
-Jackass’ WeeMan
-Kendra Wilkinson from the Girls Next Door.
more pics from the event and Kendra can be found here: http://www.hollywoodtuna.com/?p=10619
Despite being just as amazed and confused as I was. The judges determined that BMX was still way cooler than Powersliding.
Who wears shirts these days anyways?
Have a great weekend everyone!
I may have spotted the world’s first….

Bunnyhopping flowers.
We all better step our game up before we get schooled by the roses, carnations or daffodils. On the bright side they are asking too much at $12.99 +tax. If you see me ride down the street, i’ll do a bunnyhop for free. Don’t worry fellow humans, we’ll overcome this one.
Happy Easter
I hope they don’t start testing for steroids…

Because for the past few months i’ve been on the juice and in the tanning beds. It’s been paying off. I would have never worn a banana hammock like this last year…
Happy April Fools day y’all! If I was better with photoshop I would have made a better attempt, sorry to disappoint.
Baco 10

My section for Baco 10- “Take it for Baco” was uploaded recently:
[vimeo]3922067[/vimeo]
Most of this stuff was filmed in 2001/2002. I was damn psyched to have the last part in a Baco video considering the first BMX video I ever saw was Baco 6 and the first clip I ever had in a video was Baco 8. Hopefully more of those videos make it up online sooner or later. The riding, humor, antics, music and editing in the Baco videos pretty much made me fall in love with BMX.
NBC Chicago

Today was funny…
NBC got a hold of KP and myself and asked if we wanted to do an interview regarding the upcoming BMX events being hosted here in Chicago. It was too cold to ride today so of course we said “Lets Dew This!”…hehe
So we pedaled down to the studio downtown. Upon arrival we were outsiders looking in…
Then we met up with lead sports anchor Paula Faris
Paula questioned our credibility and said we didn’t look tough enough… (take #2)
We did some on camera interviews and about 20 seconds of riding (security guards were looming despite the cameras). Soon after we met the lead anchors and entire channel 5 news team…
Anchorman quotes were a flyin’
Carol and everyone at NBC Chicago was stoked on BMX which was unexpected and awesome. They were even stoked enough on our lackluster performance that they awarded us each an Emmy (the Nora Cup of the television industry)…
I held back tears during my acceptance speech so KP took the reigns…
Aaaahhhh show business….
It was in all seriousness a pretty fun day. I love how cool people are behind the scenes. Thanks NBC Chicago for having us.
Here is a little web blurb they put together:

and kp’s is here:

hahahaha…
This is also the studio where they film Jerry Springer. I hope to check that out next time and will be sure to report back to you. Maybe that’ll bring back some memories for Mr. Degroot? We’ll see…
Love,
Brian

I had to give away more grips:
Over the past few days i’ve been sifting through tons of photos of beat up, worn out, busted up grips. Thanks to everyone who entered and a huge thanks to everyone who included a joke. You made my day. It amazes me what earth, wind, fire, endless shredding and even dogs/cats can do to a pair of grips. I originally was going to pick 5 winners but after being indecisive about a few I decided to choose 7 lucky winners of a brand new pair of DK Tsuka grips courtesy of ActionVillage.com
Some of the winner’s grips were so beat up they were covered with electrical tape:
and some were still in one piece but were in need of an upgrade:
Here are the winners are who will be “hand-somely” rewarded with some soft new grips:
Eric Luna
Micah Davis
Darik Frye
Jeremiah Hunter
Jeff Baily
Jake Dufur
Louis Boudreau
Congrats! All 7 of you will have a fresh pair of grips coming to your doorstep!
HoHoHo,
Brianta Clausinsky
